If a passenger in my car during a non fault car accident claims compensation will I have to pay out?

Ste

I was involved in a very minor collision, there was literally tiny scrapes on both vehicles, we agreed on knock for knock and fixed our own vehicles and nobody was injured.

However, a week later, a passenger in my vehicle has said they are injured as a result and have taken time off work even though the accident was nowhere near harsh enough to cause anybody any injury.

What are the chances that they will succeed in suing for damages?

They weren't in pain during the time of the accident and didn't go directly to a doctors or walk in centre.
Would this impact the chances of them getting a claim?

All in all there was 2 of us in my vehicle and 5 in the other and nobody else was injured. It seems to me that my passenger, whom I only know through work, is looking for an easy pay out.

Any free legal advice is very helpful and appreciated

Thank you for your enquiry.

The passengers of both vehicles are not at fault for the incident and are therefore entitled to claim for compensation if they have been injured as a result.

If a claim is pursued by any of the passengers, then the insurer of the vehicle found to be at fault for the incident will be the party who are likely to be liable to pay any compensation.

Your Insurers will deal with the claim on your behalf.
