I was thrown from my seat when the bus driver braked sharply and injured my back by falling heavily on a step.

A&E confirmed there was whiplash, bruising and inflammation to my back for which I have been on painkillers.

There appears to be no permanent damage but I am in pain and I have had to take a few weeks off work The bus' insurers company have offered me £500 cash offer, is this a reasonable offer or are they getting off lightly?

It was such a forceful fall that I was literally thrown into the air and backwards and initially thought I had broken my back, but surprisingly it appears to be fine now. I was worried because I know many people have recurring back pain or can be paralysed from a broken back.
