What is the maximum compensation MIB can pay out in a claim for a personal injury in a hit and run accident?

I was in a road traffic accident that was not my fault with an uninsured driver.
I was hit from behind by an uninsured driver in a rear end collision, the car was stolen and the other car did not stop to exchange details or check if I was okay, I have reported this to the police, could I claim compensation?
I have suffered whiplash, a broken hand and fractured forearm, how much compensation could I be entitled to from MIB?
