My husband slipped and fell at work while lifting a large heavy items of stock, he punctured his lung and had the be hospitalised, he is off work at the moment and we were due to go on holiday abroad but we don't know yet if he can fly yet, and I doubt he will be healthy enough to and will miss out on his break he worked for.
He is not trained or qualified to move heavy objects and probably would have injured his back or knees anyway he is a sales person who stands behind a desk but they have decided recently that the stock needs to be put away at night and he is on his own moving large boxes with no one around to help him if he has an accident.
He is a very honest person and doesn't want to start any trouble or the rock the boat where has worked for years but I think he should claim as he is left each night to put away a load of heavy and large stock into a ware house on his own when he is elderly and fragile, he is 65 now and been at the store for years.
How much compensation could he claim for a work related injury like this, the accident could have actually been fatal?
Thanks for any help
its appreciated
