I have injured my back in an accident at work that was not my fault, now I am injured and would like to claim compensation.
I have had a machinery fault accident in work and severely hurt my back.
I work for the city council in parks as a park keeper, my job is cutting the grass so I have to ride on giant lawn mower, usually we do our work in summer when it is safer and easier, this year the boss has said management want me to mow the grass in the local park while its freezing outside with ice on the ground.
Its a good paying job and I didn't went to get laid off or replaced so I agreed to cutting the frosty grass.
The surface felt slippery but I felt under pressure from the manager to continue, the park fields were sloped and rolling terrain, with the added ice making it a slipping hazard.
Needles to say machine slipped off a bank in the frost with me on it and ended up on its side throwing me off onto the concrete walkway floor.
I have been to A & E and been told I have whiplash and have a head injury too, I must have banged my head when I fell and the doctors said I am concussed.
Can I claim compensation from the city council for my work related injuries?
How much can I claim for back and head injuries from an accident at work?
