Car accident on curb was not my fault, injured my head, loss of vision, how much can I claim?

I was in bad a road traffic accident yesterday that was not my fault.
I am going the doctors today to get checked up because I had a bad asthma attack and I bumped my head on the side, now my vision is blurred but after a few blinks its fine, then my eyesight goes again, I hope I don't have a permeant eye injury.

Also I have hurt my neck and injured my shoulder, I can't put my arm up my back or over my head, I think I have whiplash. The other driver swerved and hit me while I was stationary mounted on the curb, his insurance is sorting my car repairs but they suggested I get a solicitor to put a claim in for compensation for my personal injuries and make up for lost wages while I was off sick since the incident.

How much money could I get paid out for an collision and injuries like this? and could I get cash in advance
Also can claim for loss of earning as ive been unable to work with my conditions?

Any help from legal expert is appreciated.
