How would I know if I have a valid claim for compensation?
I am a personal trainer and have suffered a work related injury, I was doing a circuit class in Pure Gym, I was doing high knees and tripped on a free weight that had not been moved by the gym staff. I have had to have surgery on my knee as a result of this and now I am off work for months.
The instructor from the last class was using them and put the weight there, we are supposed to make sure the studio is clear after we use it and it had been left in a messy state, I had already cleared up a lot for my class but I have a time table to stick to, I was moving around the class and fell over the weight behind me showing someone the technique.
I am self employed and rely on being fit a ready to work, now I cannot earn any money, will I able to recover lost earning with a claim?
Being self employed will I be able to claim compensation from the gym for an accident at work?
I appreciate any free legal advice
Thank you
