I have suffered severe facial wounds as a result of an accident in a public place that was not my fault and I would like to claim compensation.
I had an accident at the gym yesterday, I was training, doing weights on one of the exercise machines when the cable come off and hit me back in face causing a broken nose.
I was lifting a heavy weight but nothing the machine was not designed to do, I was only using the plates that come with it, but still this made the wire cable snap at the bracket/clip and the force of the cable with the plastic on the end whipping back was hard enough to break my nose and slash open by face.
I complained to the gym staff and they said they would make a report of the incident in the accident book, I then went to A and E with the paramedics.
I had a big gash cut into the bridge of my nose and blood poring everywhere, I needed to get stitches on my face and still get nose bleeds from time to time.
Can I claim compensation for a personal injury caused by faulty equipment in the gym?
