Bad fall accident at work off lorry, dislocated shoulder, need surgery, can I claim compensation?

Hi there, I have had an accident at work that was not my fault, I severely injured my arm and will be out of work and require an operation to fix the injury.

I had a bad fall at work and have dislocated my shoulder and have been laid off for a few weeks had a sling for my arm and still do after Rota cuff surgery on my shoulder.

I am a hgv lorry driver and a rope on a lorry I was using broke as I was pulling it and sent my flying, falling off the lorry and landing on my side hard.

I drive open top container trucks and you have to pull the rope to pull the net over the top of the skip to cover the load, I followed proper health and safety procedure, the accident was all reported and logged in the accident book.

I have also received sufficient training, the rope should not have broke and I feel like my employer is liable for the faulty rope as it would not have happened as we are not allowed to climb the lorry as it's a health and safety issue but the boss put me under pressure and ordered me to do it.

Can I claim compensation for a work related injury because of faulty gear?

Will I be able to go back to work if I make a claim against my employer?

Any legal help is appreciated
thank you
